Black Walnut Inn Cooking School is in Session!

The Black Walnut Inn's seasonal cooking school classes are offered from November thru April. Guests can join co-owner and Chef Kris Utz for a private class in our beautiful kitchen. Classes can be scheduled by calling the inn. Pricing varies by class and by number of guests in the class. These classes are for overnight guests of the inn.

Each class is a demonstration class and occasionally there is a hands on portion. Specific menus are created around seasonal ingredients.

Classes Offered:

Seasonal Willamette Valley Dinner
As a fifth generation Oregonian Kris is passionate about local ingredients, sustainable farming and NW Cuisine. He’ll teach you all about the amazing bounty found in the Willamette Valley and explain how you can turn these ingredients into a delightful dinner at home.

Pasta
Kris has traveled extensively in Italy andspent several years as a chef at Portland's Pazzo Ristorante. He'll bring his passionfor simple Italian cooking to this class which includes hands on pasta making (it's not as hard as you think!)

Dundee Hills Wine Dinner
Nestled in the Red Hills of Dundee, The black Walnut Inn is the perfect place to learn what ingredients go best with our state's award-winning wines. Kris will pair each course with a local wine and teach you the secrets to creating the perfect food to showcase our Oregon wines. Please note; cost of wines not included in the pricing, but will be in additon to the per person cost and is dependent upon the wines featured for the dinner pairing.

Policies

All classes must be booked at least two weeks inadvance and are based on availability. The price per person is $125.00 for classes of three people or more and does not include wine. The price pre person is $200.00 for classes of two people and does not include wine. Wine can be included in the pricing. Please contact the chef for pricing of the classes with wine. Classes begin at 5:00 pm in the evening unless otherwise arranged with the chef. Cancellations within 14 days of the scheduled course will forfeit 50% of the fee per person.
